Following high school, Mrs. Metzler attended Newport Business Institute in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania where she earned an associate degree in Business Administration. After a few years in the workforce in clerical work and banking, Mrs. Metzler returned to college at Southern New Hampshire University where she earned a dual bachelor’s degree in History and Business Administration. Additionally, she attended Grand Canyon University where she earned a master’s degree in Secondary Education in 2020. While living overseas in Japan, Mrs. Metzler worked in the Japanese public-school system as a traveling Assistant Language Teacher. She worked in a total of nine different Japanese schools ranging from K-12 in the Yamaguchi prefecture of southern Japan. Following her time in the Japanese school system, she worked for the DODEA military school system as the facilitator of virtual school studies. Mrs. Metzler is currently studying at Capella University to earn a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership that will eventually lead her into school administration.

Mrs. Metzler was born and raised in Pittsburgh and moved to Plato after living in Japan with her husband who is serving as a U.S Marine and their daughter Olivia who is three years old. She really enjoys anything fashion-related, interior design, and photography. She also loves to cook, especially foreign cuisine. The Metzler family loves to travel and explore new places. They enjoy spending a great deal of time outdoors with their dogs Sophie and Beau, a Lab and a German Shepard.
Mrs. Metzler is very excited to refine the business program, lead the Computer Science “Project Lead The Way”, and start the entrepreneurship Plato School Store in the 2021-2022 school year.
