Dear Families,

We are looking forward to our Virtual Back to School Night tonight, August 20th from 4:30-7:00.  This year will be different with students and families participating online rather than in-person.  This will be a new frontier for all of us and as with any journey into uncharted territories we are likely to experience a bump or two along the way.

Information will be presented in two formats: live Zoom meetings and pre-recorded presentations shared Monday.  A short tutorial video and links for both presentations can be found at

Pre-recorded Teacher Presentations

  • Please watch pre-recorded teacher presentations prior to attending Virtual Back to School zoom meetings, as they may answer many of your questions.

Zoom Meetings

  • Live Zoom meetings will be held between 4:30-7:00 facilitated by each teacher for families to ask questions in a large group setting.

    • Families may join the personal video calls from their home by signing into the Zoom meeting using the login information and links located underneath the the pre-recorded teacher sessions.

  • Parents who have private matters to discuss with teachers are asked to schedule a personal meeting for a later time.  This can be done during the Zoom meeting with the teacher or by calling 417-458-3333.  Please do not discuss personal information during the Zoom meeting as other parents will be present in the meeting.

  • District support personnel including the nurse, secretaries, counselors, food service director, special education coordinator, and technology director will be available to answer individual questions.  They will host virtual Zoom calls admitting only one person at a time to the meeting while others wait in a virtual waiting room.  Access Zoom meetings using the login information and links located at the bottom of the Virtual Back to School Web page.

Getting Ready to Zoom Meet

    • Please download the Zoom meeting app to your phone or computer at: before the meeting starts.

    • If you need help learning how to use Zoom please watch the video on the district website.

    • If you need access to the internet, connect to the school wifi network from your car by selecting PSD_WIFI  access points are available behind the Old Gym, by the front entrance parking lot, near the tennis courts, or ball field.  No password is required.

Elementary Supply Drop Off

    • Families may drop off student supplies at the High School foyer Friday, August 21st, from 8:00-4:00.

    • Please label individual supplies with the student’s name and place all supplies in a bag.  Label the bag with the student and teacher’s name.  Supplies will be delivered to the student’s classroom prior to the first day of school.

    • Students who have questions regarding their schedule are asked to complete the Schedule Change Request Form.  Mr. Atterberry will contact students to answer questions and make schedule adjustments.

Secondary Schedule Changes

    • Students who have questions regarding their schedule are asked to complete the Schedule Change Request Form.

    • Mr. Atterberry will contact students to answer questions and make schedule adjustments.

If you need technical assistance please call 417-458-3333; we will be glad to help you!   We know utilizing the virtual format will be a new experience for all of us and we are learning together.  We want to make sure that families have the information that they need to support their children. We appreciate the positive attitude and spirit of cooperation that our students, families and staff have demonstrated during the challenges of opening school during the COVID-19 pandemic.  We look forward to working together with you to make this year a great success for our students! Together we can do virtually anything!
