JAG students traveled to Jefferson City for the annual Career Development conference on April 3rd and 4th. They got to learn and share ideas with other students from across the state, compete in a variety of events ranging from financial literacy to prepared speaking and creative decision making. They also had the opportunity to meet the governor and First Lady at their mansion, and tour the Capitol building. Reminder: The final CSIP Development Committee meeting will be tomorrow night, April 25th, at 5:30pm in Mrs. Breedlove's HS FACS room. Food will be provided at 5:00pm. The purpose of this meeting is to finalize SMART goals for each priority, develop action steps to support such goals, develop a timeline, and assign any additional needs to appropriate parties.
Mrs. Meckem visited the kindergarteners in Mrs. Amy's class for a lesson with the book, โHow the Crayons Saved the
Rainbowโ. It's a wonderful book about sharing and getting along with everyone. Students experimented with baking soda,
vinegar, and food coloring using a pipette. Next, students completed an ink fingerprint activity, followed by another science activity to discover how a rainbow is made. Then students made their own rainbows. Everyone enjoyed the project based learning activities!

April is designated as โMonth of the Military Child,โ underscoring the important role military children play in the armed forces community. Purple is the chosen color for the month of the military child. Purple combines each branch's colors into one: the Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard all use shades of blue, the Army uses green, and the Marines use red. MCEC celebrates Purple Up this year on April 21st.
We are asking all students and staff to wear purple on Friday, April 28th to celebrate our military affiliated students here at Plato! Yearbook staff will be around to take photos for social media and the yearbook!
Happy Month of the Military Child!
